The
Paris District Office of the Illinois Department of Transportation wishes
to announce the following update on the 11-mile reconstruction project of
I-70 in
Clark
County
from the North
Fork
of the
Embarrass
River,
just west of
Martinsville,
eastward to one mile west of
Illinois
1,
near
Marshall:
On
Monday, September 8, 2003 at 8:00 PM, both the newly reconstructed
westbound lanes of I-70 between Marshall and Martinsville will be
re-opened to traffic. Beginning Tuesday, the process of removing the
temporary concrete barrier down the middle of the eastbound pavement will
commence and is anticipated to take 4 days to complete. In order to
finish final pavement striping and seeding operations, the eastbound
passing land will remain closed for an extended period of time. The
entire project is expected to be completed by the end of September.
As
this project draws to an end, IDOT wishes again to remind motorists to
please drive with heightened awareness when they are approaching any
construction zone not only for their own safety, but the safety of the
workers as well.
