The Illinois Department of Transportation welcomes you to the official web site for the Interstate 70 reconstruction project in Clark County in southeastern Illinois.

This project, one of the largest downstate Interstate reconstruction projects, involves a $74 million reconstruction of 10 miles of the 33-year-old Interstate 70 from the Indiana State line to one mile west of Illinois 1.  During this project, the I-70 roadway will be reconstructed, improvements made to turn lanes and ramps at the Illinois 1 and US 40 interchanges, the ramps at the rest area and truck weigh station.

Mainline I-70 pavement work is scheduled to begin on March 1, 2002 and will be completed by October 31, 2002.
