Subject: Ramp Re-Opening (I-70/Rt. 1)

The Paris District Office of the Illinois Department of Transportation wishes to announce the following update on the 10-mile reconstruction project of I-70 in Clark County from 1 mile west of IL Rt. 1 eastward to the Indiana State Line:

Beginning the afternoon of October 24, 2002 the westbound ramps at the I-70/IL Rt. 1 interchange will be reopened following their reconstruction. Lanes closures on I-70 eastbound and westbound, within the project limits, are expected to last until October 31 for final completion of all construction items. The Department wishes to thank the motoring public for their patience during this reconstruction period. Once again IDOT wishes to remind motorist to please drive with heightened awareness through any construction zone not only for their own safety, but the safety of the workers as well.

Subject: Ramp Closure

The Paris District Office of the Illinois Department of Transportation wishes to announce the following update on the 10-mile reconstruction project of I-70 in Clark County from 1 mile west of IL Rt. 1 eastward to the Indiana State Line:

Beginning Wednesday morning, September 4, 2002, the westbound lanes of I-70 from the Indiana State Line westward to just west of the Rt. 40 interchange, as well as the “entrance and exit ramps” at the I-70/Rt. 40 interchange will be re-opened. Shortly thereafter, the westbound exit ramp at the I-70/IL Rt. 1 interchange will be closed for reconstruction. This will then close both of the westbound I-70/ IL Rt. 1 ramps, which will be reopened by October 31, 2002. During this time “Alternate Route” signing will be provided for westbound motorists wanting to exit at IL Rt. 1, re-directing them to exit at the Rt. 40 interchange and then proceed westward on Rt. 40 to IL Rt. 1.
